Empty Cell

We ran a short item on a new cell tower in the Sturbridge area from Verizon. But our Sturbridge readers seem nonplussed. Here's one reader response on the new tower:

"I live on Route 148 in Sturbridge, not far from the Pike, and despite the new tower I am still unable to use my Verizon cell phone in my home. I am lucky to have one bar reception on my back porch."

Can you hear me now? I guess not.

I was the reader that left the comment. (sigh). Still get squat for reception despite the new tower. Would be nice to know exactly where the tower is. I also wrote about it twice @:

They probably mounted their new antenna array on the existing tower next to the beginning of I-84, right there next to route 20 and within the exit ramp from I-84 to Rte20 east.

Unless you see a brand new tower somewhere, the old tower is where it is.
